Privacy policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
The Raceday Society is an independent and informal fan community. This policy explains what we collect when you register on theracedaysociety.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We’ve kept it short and in plain language.
What we collect
When you register your interest, we ask for:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your city and country
- The year you started following the sport
- Your Instagram or X handle
- Your LinkedIn profile, if you choose to share it
We also record the date and time you registered, and that you confirmed you’re 18 or over and agreed to this policy. We don’t use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies on this site.
Why we collect it
- To confirm your registration of interest by email, and to tell you about race nights, runs, meetups and other plans near you, no more than once a month until your city opens
- To work out which cities have enough members to start a local group
- To introduce you to other members in your city when a group gets going
- To get a sense of who you are as a fan, so the community stays true to what it’s for
We use your social handles only to recognise members and keep the community genuine. We won’t post on your behalf or contact you through them without asking.
Who we share it with
We never sell your details, and we don’t share them with sponsors, advertisers or anyone else for marketing.
Your registration is stored in a Google Sheet in our Google account, so Google processes it on our behalf. The website is hosted on Cloudflare, and the fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so both services see the basic technical information any website visit involves, such as your IP address. Your details are seen only by the founder and, once your city opens, the volunteer host of your city chapter. We may share your first name and city with other members of your local group when we introduce you, and nothing more without your permission.
We’ll only disclose your details beyond this if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as you’re a member. If you ask us to remove you, we’ll take you off our member list within 30 days.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you the details we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your details and stop contacting you
Every email we send will include a way to opt out. For anything else, write to hello@theracedaysociety.com and we’ll reply within 30 days.
Age
The Raceday Society is for adults. Please don’t register if you’re under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your details, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll email members before it takes effect.
